Remembering the World Wars

Yesterday started off with a visit to the Army Museum, which houses collections of French military weapons, uniforms, and goes over important French Wars (like WWI and WWII). Napoleon Bonaparte's tomb is also a part of the museum.

We (especially my Dad) were mostly interested in the WWI and WWII exhibits. What was really interesting to me was learning about France's point of view for both wars. Obviously, they were a bigger part of WWI, so it was cool to learn more about that war and its conflicts. It also made me think of how other participating countries teach/reveal to the public about these wars. For example, how does Germany convey their part in these wars? What is their viewpoint?

We also saw other parts of the exhibit, like the artillery room, and Napoleon's tomb.

Next, we hopped on the metro to go have lunch and walk down the Champs Élysées. Of course, my Mom and I couldn't pass picking up some delicious macarons at the famous Ladurée! Simply divine. I already can't wait to go back to have some more of their tasty treats and hang out in their tea room!

And of course, we got the cat boxes

We continued our walk, stopping by Louis Vuitton and ending our walk at the Arc de Triomphe. Even though we didn't go to the top of the Arc, it was still quite a sight!

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The flame burns in memory of those who died and were never identified in WWI (and also WWII)
