Today we took a tour of Iceland's south shore. We visited a number of places, starting with the Mydralsjökull glacier, followed by having lunch in a beach town called Vík, walking along a black sand beach, visiting the Skógar Folk Museum and Skógafoss waterfall, and ending the day by seeing the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. It was a jam-packed day with nonstop beautiful scenery.
The fist set of photos are on the drive towards the Mydralsjökull glacier:

Here are photos of the Mydralskjöll glacier. Our tour guide said that 10 years ago there wasn't a lagoon, but over recent years the glacier has been melting and soon enough, a lagoon formed.

| The guy behind me was a total douche the whole time. We're tying to tell ourselves it could've been a cultural thing. |
 |
| Adam was very happy to have touched the cold water behind him AND touch actual glacial ice! |
The following photos were taken in a beach town named Vík, which is the furthest we went on the drive. Although very windy, the town is small and quiet.
 |
| Lupine flowers. They are found everywhere in Iceland |
Back on the bus...
This is the black sand beach that we visited. The cave in the background and in the second picture is where part of the movie Noah was filmed. Apparently. Also, there were some really cool rocks you could climb up, which is what Adam did of course.

On the way to the museum:

Below are photos of the Skógar Folk Museum. One of the exhibits was outside, displaying what kinds of farm houses Icelanders had as homes in the past
 |
| Some of these houses reminded us of being in The Shire! |

We're really glad that we took this tour because it gave us a chance to see more of what the country has to offer. We're just in awe over how beautiful and unique this place is! One minute you're surrounded by lava fields with geothermal activity going on, and the next you're seeing dozens of sheep and miniature horses grazing the fields. Not to mention, there's also active volcanoes and multiple glaciers all along this drive as well! For a good while, Adam was hoping for one of the volcanoes to erupt, just so he can see what that would look like. Ummm...no thanks! Admiring a sleeping volcano is good enough.
If you ever plan to visit Iceland, I'd highly recommend seeing this area of the country, either by going on a tour bus (which is what we did), or by renting your own car and driving around for the day!
